City of Prague is for its convenient location one of the best starting points for conducting trips to other countries in Europe. It is a modern capital and is connected with other cities through sophisticated network of transport options. To get to neighbouring states of Germany, Poland, Austria and Slovakia it is way cheaper and easier to use train than plane.   • Transport around Prague

Before planning your trip outside of Prague, you probably need to orient yourself at least a bit in the system of Prague’s public transportation (MHD). In the Czech Republic railways are operated solely by state-owned company, Czech Railways (České dráhy).
